Metall und Beton

There is something about the unfinished look of concrete that really appeals to me. I really enjoy its aesthetic a lot, the simplicity of it with the added roughness to it. With several of my friends being architects, I’ve been thoroughly inspired by bridges, and other architectural forms made from metal and concrete.

Techniques:

For this collection I used duck cloth and leather as my fabric. I created the textures from the metal structures of buildings or bridges, as well as the natural shapes you find in concrete for my screens. I then silk screened with pigment or glue to add foil to the swatches. As you can see the last swatch I made into the sneaker that was designed within the collection. It is a wearable prototype that I still wear today.
